I have been a Registered Nurse and Midwife 40 years. Midwifery is my passion and working alongside women and families as they navigate their pregnancy, birth and parenthood journey is my joy. Working to establish Midwifery Group Practices in SA and NSW, I am committed to ensuring that every women has the opportunity to have a therapeutic, continuity relationship with a midwife. Continuity models of care have sound evidence base research behind them that clearly demonstrate an improvement in healthy pregnancies and well grown, healthy babies. When women do develop conditions in their pregnancy, like gestational diabetes, having a known multidisciplinary team, coordinating and working with the women on timely and titrated treatment ensures optimal outcomes. This is the model I strive to develop and collaborate with. I see women feeling heard and empowered in their journey, able to manage their disease processes with resilience and self determination.
